Exhaust system broken 120-130 1966

I am the lucky stiff that is picking up C.A.'s 122 Wagon tomorrow. The good news: I pulled out the choke, jumped the battery, and after a year of sitting, it started! I drove it in the church parking lot, where it is parked, and tested the brakes and will drive it the 15 miles home tomorrow!

But the exhaust pipe was broken in front of the rear wheel. The resonator(?) was hanging down with an extra foot of exhaust pipe in front of it, touching the ground. A little wire to get the pipe away from trouble and I can drive it.

I didn't have time to do a removal of the resonator, that will have to wait until I get home - ugly looking rusty bracket is holding it in place.

The QUESTION: What is a good way to fix this, besides a beer can and a couple of clamps :) Should I find a muffler shop or whould I get an entire exhaust pipe? The resonator is welded on. I couldn't see the muffler so I don't know how that is attached. IPD sells a "performance" exhaust, but this car has a single Weber with a B18 engine. I just want to do a good job without spending a heck of a lot of money.

Any and all suggestions are welcome. Pictures will be forth coming after the car has had a bath. Slightly grungy righ now. Not too much visible rust, but I will report all of that next week.

Thanks,
Klaus
