High RPM's and Very Slow Take Off 200 1988

This morning, my '88 240DL would not move without reving the engine to almost 3000. After the initial occurance, I attempted to reproduce the symptom without success.

I let it set for 4 hours and tried again, but could not reproduce the symptom.

Tranny, torque converter or rear end?

Thanks for your feedback....
