Had a whole shwack of stuff to install today.
IPD blue plug wires: will not reach #4 plug without routing it through the intake manifold and it's still a real tight fit. I would imagine that this is not a good idea, long term. So I will be calling and yelping at them tomorrow. Why the fancy ones? THEY'RE BLUE! That's worth another $10 over the blah Bougicords right?
Air box flapper thermostat: the new one came in the "open" position which makes it impossible (near as I could tell ) to install. "No big, I'll put it in the freezer for 15 minutes, that'll close it." Nope. So I guess it's bad, and I just ended up using the stuck old one, upside down, to force the flap shut on the hot side. I have a new hose from the exhaust manifold to the airbox that will be put on for inspection day in November for one hour. Heh.
Crank position sensor: fail. Bolt won't break loose despite a PB Blaster soak and a ludicrous assemblage of 3/8 and 1/4 extensions and u-joints. It still works, but I want to replace it as preventive maintenance at some point.
temp comp bypass: win! tachometer install: win! except for the tiny spring that fell out of the cluster when I lifted it out of the plastic box. ??? temp gauge now nicely right at the tiny white dot that I never noticed til today.
IPD rear cam seal blowout-prevention plate and IPD shock tower struts: win. I know, the struts you can make yourself but I don't have the tools. Not a huge improvement but she feels less floppy and more rigid. I caught the 20% off IPD sale earlier this month.
belly pan: how do you lose one of these? You'd think I woulda noticed this falling off, so I guess one of the shops she was at over the past few months forgot to put it back on. Eyeing the IPD aluminum one.
Anyone want a clock? it kind of works, but seems to stick after a day or two. This is the big one, not the little one on the right. Otherwise I'll toss it.
Didn't get to the lumbar/seat heater replacement. Next week.
