Power Steering Belt 900 1993

I'm trying to change my drive belts. I'm having real troubles with only putting the power steering belt back on.

I removed the power steering bolt by removing the 13mm lock nut for the adjustment screw. Loosened the adjustment screw all the way. I loosened the 12mm nut and bolt on the bottom of the pump, which passes through the mounting bracket. The pump wouldn’t move enough so I removed the adjustment screw completely and took out the bolt that the adjustment screw passes through.

I can get the belt back on, but I can’t get the bolt which the adjustment screw passes through to get back in the adjustment bracket.

I know I'm missing something. Many thanks.
