Front Suspension Knocks and clunks 200

This seems to be a common topic, but most of the info seems to point towards the A-arm bushings and the pros/cons of poly vs OEM rubber.

I visually examined my suspension and steering components while I was doing my struts, but I did not see an obvious culprit for my suspension clunks and knocks.

The rubber on the rear A-arms looks solid and unchewed. I've seen failed lower A bushings on 122s and I think I should recognize wrecked bushings on a 240.

Symptoms
When ridding over rough streets (potholes, etc) I get noticeable clunks and knocks from the front of the car. It is definitely the front and not the rear.

I expected to see some clues as to the source of the problem, when I doing my struts, but nothing looked or felt overly worn or spongy.

Here's what I checked:
Visually examined the lower A bushings. They look to be in excellent condition.

Strut mounts - solid and in excellent condition. bearings are tight and spin freely.

Swaybar doughnut bushings - tight, but showing wear and slight cracking. On the list for replacement/upgrade.

Swaybar butterfly bushings - look a little worn but are still solid. On the list for replacement.

Swaybar tube bushings (on the nose) - looks and feels to be in good condition.

Tie rods. Solid - boots are undamaged.

Balljoints. Passenger side balljoint has some damage to the boot. Will need renewal soon. Did not intensively examine these, but car does not exhibit the "bowling ball" steering typical of failing ball joints.

I'm not sure if there's something else to check up front. Some previous posts suggested something about a nut in the bracket of the rear A arm bushing. In addition, some mentioned ball joints as a source of clunks.

Thoughts and Advice are appreciated.
