I took my slightly rusty 1984 245 to an automatic wash this morning to wash off the accumulated road salt. It was about 25 F and warming up quickly.
I used the undercarriage spray option, which I've done at least 30+ times previoiusly with no issues. I left the engine running during the wash.
I drove about 2 miles, made a right turn, and as I eased out on the clutch the engine sputtered and died.
I pulled off and tried to restart with no success. She turned over nicely, but wouldn't catch. I opened the hood, and there was water dripping all over the engine. After a few more attempts to start over 15 minutes, I left her there with the hood open to dry (up to about 35 F by then) and came back after ~1.5 hrs. She started right up.
What parts, when wet, would cause that kind of stall?
