Have never done this stuff before, but am always eager to try, with help from brickboard, so thanks for any help.
First, I need to remove the pulleys/sprockets, whatever they are called. I already removed the timing belt and now I don't see how to move the top-most pulley without it turning. Used the rope trick to get the crank pulley off, but not sure how to get the sprocket off there either...should I have loosened the bolts before removing the timing belt?
Part of my dilemma is the back plastic part of the timing belt cover....how do you remove all these pulleys and sprockets without destroying it?
Lastly, I keep reading about cautions about things moving without the timing belt...I was under the impression that the camshaft and intermediate could move (the crank isn't going anywhere with the rope holding it still) as long as they are properly aligned before reinstalling the timing belt. Am I wrong on that---and if so, what do I need to make sure doesn't move?
I'm sure I will have more questions as I progress or fail to progress....I have the knack of making a 4 hour job kill a long weekend.....but I am always up for trying something and haven't destroyed any of the five bricks yet....
