another sunroof question... motor? 700 1991

i've got a 91 744 and my sunroof isn't working...

when i first got the car it wouldn't open at all and i got two switches for it and that solved my problem.

2 years later, the sunroof will go up or "vent" but it won't go back or "open." I thought it might be the switch again so I put in my spare and it exhibits the same behavior. will vent but not open. tried a 3rd switch. same deal.

my headliner is sagging on the sunroof and i was wondering if that could be preventing it from going back or if my motor is shot.

if the motor is bad, i have no idea where it is so please advise.
