My instrument lights are uniformly dim. Can't really read the instruments with glare from oncoming headlights. Sometime back I bypassed the rheostat which was not working well, but that didn't help the brightness. I'm told lamps dim over time and that I should replace the 40-year old 3W bulbs with equivalent wattage. Any one have any experience with this process they could share?
