Engine light, code: 1-4-4 Missing or Faulty Load Signal .. but no noticeable symptoms 200 1989

My service light comes on for a minute or two when I start up the car, but then shuts off again after that and there's no noticeable performance issues.

Someone said they'd check the oxygen sensor, but it seems like the light only comes on during the first minute or two, at which point the system should be in an open loop running off of pre-set maps until the oxygen sensor warms up and comes on board, at which point the system goes closed and runs according to the sensors....so it seems almost like it only happens when the oxygen sensor is offline and the system is running off of pre-sets.

My volvo is at 145,000kms with yearly dealer servicing by the previous owners till now (have all of the records) and the computer was already replaced around 105,000kms ...

Something I'm not understanding? Is there a signal it uses while it's waiting for the oxygen sensor to come online? If it was the computer again, would I not have driveability issues? The only references to this code I can find online are all no-runs ... computer or fuel pump relay... but mine drives fine

Thanks!
