Lots of questions working on my 1989 240 DL sedan once more. Your help and information will be appreciated.

1. Is there any way to search nationwide for availability of parts for this 1989 Volvo 240DL or does this have to be done by Volvo dealer parts department?

2. We've diagnosed the starting problem as due to a corroded a central relay unit or ECU ?? are these the same part by different names because I've had one dealer quote me a price of $27.50 plus tax while the other parts guy quoted me a price of $175.00 so I think they must be talking about two different parts?

3. Asking because I no longer have access to the Edmunds 240 Manual -- the library said someone else needed it.

4. My memory may be dusty but I thought there was some sort of ''Volvo Bible'' for parts and systems, but I can't find a reference to it, or anywhere to buy or view it online -- any assistance would be appreciated.

5. Also found out the wiper motor seems dead -- the third time I've had one die on our Volvos since 1984-is this a weak point, just hard use in bad weather, and are there refurbished/rebuilt units available, or does Volvo have any new motors left in parts nationwide all these years later?

6. Similar question regarding the foil ridged tubing for defroster and heater air circulation -- if any of you remember the 'raccoon suicide' reported last fall -- in addition to replacing the belly pan it turns out these foil tubes (are there 3 or 4?)need replacing -- the damage just wasn't visible last fall.
