The differential in my 1981 245 is making some growling noises and there is a lot of play between it and the drive shaft. I've talked to a few people in the Knoxville, Tn area where I live, including the Volvo dealer, and their best advice was to get a used one out of a junk yard. Not wanting to buy another noisey rear end, I want to get it fixed by replacing whatever gears are needed. I've been told it's just a Dana 30, but have found nobody around here that even knows where to get the parts, let alone the expertise to install them. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.
