Differential problem 200 1981

As others have already pointed out--going used would be the most logical way of dealing with a differential--especially for one as common and sturdy as the 240 uses. For what you'd spend on parts--new outer bearings and seals $125--aftermarket gears $200--new ring gear bolts $25--inner bearings $75--gaskets and lube $25--total $450----plus labor--easily $200-300----you could BUY an entire running beater with a good rear--swap them out and still have a car to sell/scrap to recoop cost. I've done it both ways but didn't have to pay myself $90 an hour. -- Dave
