I have recently been called upon to help a new son-in-law do some repairs to his and my daughter's cars. He is reasonably intelligent, just young and his approach to repairs is 180 degrees opposed to my own, way more anal approach. I am trying not to be overbearing for fear of alienating him, while still wanting to be sure the repairs are done safely, etc. To let some things slide when they don't matter all that much, even though I wouldn't go that way on my own. I suppose I can be intimidating in my own way and am known for my sarcasm and I do say what I'm thinking. This doesn't always help and I try to curb the inclination, but sometimes it's just overwhelming. In case you are wondering, I don't butt into their personal stuff unless asked. got advice? Especially from any younger guys who've maybe been in a similar situation.
