When working with my son on a project tat is new to him, I kinda talk out loud.
" Alrighty, let me wire wheel these babies clean so I can get them off easier next time we have to do this."
" Whoa, they were a bitch to come off, Let me clean them up and toss some antisieze on them for next time."
"Lemme, move this over a bit so we don't stress the heck out of those wires. I don't want to go back and have to fix those."
Probably not the best advice because as he has gotten to know what's what, My wife spilled the beans to me that "Dad takes over the job all the time".
I try not to, I think I intimidate him a bit so he is extra cautious, I see his hesitation and I confuse it for lack of knowing, So I say, Lemme give it a shot, then I'm in it.
Watching him nicely pull of a Brake Rotor the other day was torture. He knows I am not a mechanical butcher and I like finesse over force so he was ever so gently trying to get off this stuck rotor. I finally stepped in, smacked it with a sledge in a few spots and rocked it off in 30 seconds. I'm not sure if " I was helping or 'Taking Over'. for that one.
