Towing cross country--advice? 200

So as I've mentioned in a previous post, I'm off to school in just a couple of months. The volvo's looking sharp and is finally getting close to being a complete car, and I can't stand to leave her behind--it's a 92 244 by the way. I'm looking at towing a small U-Haul trailer behind the car, a 5'x10' trailer. What do I need to keep in mind when doing this?

Recently I did the entire front end suspension including bushings, and at the same time I did rear shocks. Rear bushings were done 16 months ago. It's been aligned since then. I've got plans to flush/replace the coolant, and replace the transmission fluid (it's a m47). I'm also thinking of installing a spare tach I have laying around just for the trip so I can keep track of how hard I'm working her going up hills.

Any other advice would be appreciated. I've never towed with this car, and I'd love for me and the head gasket to get there in one piece. Do you think it'd be worth dropping at IPD to have them look everything over? I live a few hours away one direction, but I realize that I won't get the chance to have such skilled mechanics take a peak at her for quite some time. Thanks for all the help guys!
