Rewiring for internal-regulator alternator conversion 120-130

Hi all-

a couple of weeks ago I created a posting titled "Need correct voltage regulator?"

First, many thanks to all of you for your input. Here is the latest update...

I took Planetman's advice about getting an alternator that has internal voltage regulator. I got a new 63-amp Delco one to replace the old generator. Peace of mind not worrying about getting a right external voltage regulator!

After solving the problem of mounting the new alt by doing little metal fabrication, it was a snap just connecting a wire from the alt to the battery. Test showed a healthy juicing of 13-14 volts.

Awesome, BUT...

The separate wire I used was just to test how the alternator works. It didn't solve the problem of having the AMP indicator light function correctly.

How do I connect existing wiring(a thick black wire and a red thin wire that used to be hooked to the voltage regulator of the old generator)?

I could try testing by using the process of elimination to find the solution, but I don't want the risk of frying something. *Many thanks in advance for helping me out!

-DS
