piston size question B-20 - B-21? 1800

I have my B-20 block ('69 1800S) at a machine shop, and they just informed me that due to a scratch/gouge, it has to be bored out .040 oversize, and can I find pistons for that? Of course, for mere money, I assume I can, but I remembered that IPD sold (but apparently no longer does) an "overbore, i.e. 2100cc piston kit. Now here's my question; will plain old standard size B-21 pistons fit in my pushrod B-20? There has to be enough "meat" in the casting for that, so why not?
Can I use the B-21 size rods, or some combination of new and old? Since the Volvo engineers, in their wisdom, seldom sought to reinvent the wheel, why should I have to? I tried to find a similar topic in the archives, but admittedly didn't look too long, so,...
