Brake caliper question 140-160 1972

Okay this has probably been discussed many times but it's too hard to search this site and I'm too busy to take the time.
I recently bought a 72 142 for my new driver son and I to restore and drive. One of the things it needs is brakes redone, the right front caliper sticks. I picked up a set of front flex hoses at IPD Friday and we lifted it up and pulled the RF tire. After sitting for 2 months the rotor still wouldn't turn without much effort, and when I attempted to take a large pair of channel lock pliers and compress the pistons they wouldn't budge. We then opened the bleeder valves on the caliper and it only took a light squeeze to squirt out some brake fluid and move the pistons. The rotor now turns freely.

Is it reasonable for me to assume that the old hoses are collapsed inside and the caliper is probably still good? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
