Very high NOX and somewhat high HC on smog. Looks like I will need new O2 sensor and Cat converter for 1993 945T. The car has been in California since new so I imagine it is a california spec car. Buying these two parts on line vs. dealer means savings of about 60% ($400 vs $1100)just for the parts.
However when looking online for california legal OEM replacement I am faced with 3 different cats and 4 different O2 sensors.
There apparently was a model year shift in 1993 and thus not only is there bosch vs. regina, 49 state vs. california, gas recycling valve vs. non agr to consider but also what was production date.
How can I determine which part # (which system) my car uses. Is there a place I put in the VIN # and get this information? Is there a way I can tell from visual inspection? Is there a placard.
Sorry to be so uninformed but I don't even know how to tell regina vs non-regina (whatever that means)
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Howard
