A/C Belt Allignment 200 1980

On my newly acquired 1980 242,I do not have a belt from the crank pullie to the A/C pullie. And ,the A/C pullie is forward of the crank pullie by about a 1/2" or greater.I un-bolted the power steering pump and set it a side. The a/c compressor is inside of a mounting bracket that appears to have no adjustment. Is there any adjustments? Has anyone had this type of problem? Thanks in advance for any help. Joe
