1994 940T power issues - intermittent 900 1994

Hello all,

Thank you in advance for your help!

So I have a very well maintained 940T with an auto trans. IT's got 165K miles and runs well.

The problem is when I request power (step on the gas...) it will go, but sometimes it will GO! and other times it will sorta go. It's a very "digital" problem - in that is does not "sag" power, it will be running at say 75% power, and all the sudden I get a burst of 100% power, and it tends to come and go.

The other day when a friend was driving the car - after about 3-4 hours of drive time, he was not able to get above about 3500RPM's... and it was not giving him enough power to get up a hill over about 20MPH.

The fuel economy has been consistent - it usually gets 21MPG on the freeway, and when I really get on it in town I get about 15-16MPG.

No black smoke that I can see, or smoke of any type.

Recently installed new intake manifold gasket and injector o-rings due to a major missing problem. That is totally resolved.

The issue is not a misfire, as the engine runs on all 4 holes all the time, but it's seemingly a lack of fuel, and when it gets more fuel it goes...

There is always turbo boost, and it runs at normal operating temp. There is fuel in the tank.

No check engine light.

I'm guessing - but an AMM? Knock sensor? RPM sensor?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
