I am hoping someone can help with this problem that has persisted despite repairs done by the mechanic.
1. Last year after my 94 940 Turbo got wet from rain or a car wash, it would either not start or stall after driving for about 1 mile. After about 20 minutes it would restart.
We replaced the battery and the mechanic thought it might be the ignition reference sensor so that was replaced.
There would be times when the car would get wet with no problems.
2. Well this past weekend with the rain, it stalled again the cold morning after the night of rain about 2 miles into the drive. It started again after 20 minutes.
3. The next day while city driving, I noticed a quick stumble or flutter while sometimes, but not always, waiting at a red light.
4. Today, while driving for about 1 hour, combined freeway and city, the stumbles or flutters increased in frequency while at red lights and then sometimes the car seemed to have no acceleration power when the light turned green. It eventually corrected itself after this initial spell of no power. One time I even stalled while trying to accelerate. The car did restart right away.
5. Is the stalling after getting wet related to this stumble/flutter at a stop and then no power upon acceleration.
Any ideas to help direct my mechanic would be very much appreciated.
The car has about 160,000 miles and well maintained. Mostly city driving
