1983 240 DL New battery and alternator keeps dying!

I have a 1983 Vovlo 240 DL wagon and it won't start now. We replaced the battery and alternator. The battery twice, the first time it ran for a few days than died. So we put in a new alternator and another new battery and it ran for 3 days and I just tried to start it and it won't start. Is it the overdrive relay? Engine wiring harness? I'm confused.
