My engine was delivered today to Techshop (Menlo Park, CA). I'm going to take a stab at it tomorrow, and I'm not sure how far I'll get.
To be honest, Half of me feels underprepared and the other half expects it to be easy. I don't know which half to believe yet :P
Any last minute ideas, suggestions, mistakes not to repeat? I wound up with a 93 squirter block B230FT with manifolds from San Luis Auto Salvage. Pulled from an accident-wrecked 93 940T.
Aside from removing the intercooler and radiator, I think a chunk of plywood between the engine and the AC condenser (I plan to leave it in place) would be a good idea when I slide the engine forward.
I'll have to look again at the starter bolts' socket size. I think it's a 19mm wobble joint socket I need...? And for the obvious question, why do I have to remove the starter bolt before pulling out the engine? I'm guessing that the bolts that hold in the starter hold the trans and engine together.
Happy wrenching! Wish me luck...
