83 240 Wagon - Fuel Pump Questions 200

Bought an old wagon about two weeks ago. I noticed that the fuel pump was buzzing a bit but I wasn't too concerned because my 86 sedan did likewise for a couple of years before she was wrecked. Now the buzzing is getting louder and I guess I need to figure out what my options are.

I do not know if this has any impact on the pump's function... but I did fill her up with premium and added a bottle of winter additive to remove moisture from the fuel tank last week.

It sounds like keeping the tank over half full is a good idea. Any other suggestions to hopefully buy some time until spring?

Also, given that my car is a wagon, do I have the ability to access/maintain fuel system components by removing floor panels? (I noticed this in 700/900 FAQ's but wasn't sure what year/models to which they were referring and how much could be accomplished.)

Thanks in advance to those who are kind enough to share their expertise and experience. It is much appreciated.

Bruce - Spokane,WA
