Synthetic Tranny Fluid 200 1986

The FAQs does NOT recommend synthetic automatic transmission fluid for AW7xs. The cost per quart of fully synthetic is about 2-3 times the cost of non-synthetic. I change my tranny fluid every 30k. What are the pros and cons of using synthetic ATF? Also, I have a 1980 242 manual that takes Type F ATF in its tranny. Any recommendations about that? Thanks!
