Michelin Tires gone bad 444-544

My son has been using my 544 for the past month after was parked for about eleven months. Three Michelin Tires went south all within a few days. In all cases they developed a bulge and the plies broke. The tires had about 15K miles, and were a bit over 12 years old.
What do you guys make of this?? I'll see if I can figure out a picture.
