OK, I am as big a skeptic as anyone about most anything. BUT, my Bro was having some sludge issues with his wifes SAAB 95 Turbo. In case you haven't heard, certain model SAAB'S are experiencing major sludge issues. The combination of a micro screen on the sump, turbo and cat in close proximity to the oil pan, and a ridiculous recommended oil change of 10000 (!!!) miles, owners are having major headaches. My Bro has removed the oil pan twice, to scrape the sludge out and modify the sump screen.
Anyway to my point. I WAS experiencing a similar problem w/ my 1993 940 T, on a smaller scale, but I was still having some issues (some may say all of this is common w/ a turbo) of oil consumption, oil leaks, sludge.
So, after my Brother used the engineRX in his SAAB and said he thought it helped, I thought I would try it in my 940 T. WOW!!! I am amazed!! After one application, I can honestly say, it uses less oil, the engine oil stays clean longer into the oil change (used to look dirty after 500 miles, now still pretty clean at 1200!!), less sludge, less oil leaks.
Engine RX is not an overnight fix. I takes three oil changes at 3000 miles each to start to see some changes. The clean phase, the rinse phase, and the regular oil change after the first two to see the changes.
But, it would not be good to clean it all out at once. It is the slow process that is the safer way to clean the crap out of an engine. They also claim it will make engine seals pliable again, and recondition them from the inside out to where they will seal again,( if not too far gone of course. My 940 is not leaking hardly at all compered to how it was leaking.
It is esther based, not solvent based. The company now recommends adding about 4 oz. at each oil change, as kind of a maintence dose, to help keep the sludge/issues at bay. This is one product that actually does what it says it will!!! http://www.auto-rx.com/
