They are soft. I cycled them both half a dozen times and I can put either on the floor and compress it with my thumb, with effort, but one finger. And you can compress both and one rises faster than the other, and the slow one stops about 3/4 of the way up. It still feels like it has consistent damping on rebound if you help it along by pulling though. AND, the gland nuts are either bored off center, or welded off center, or something. I had to wallow out one side as it was uncomfortably close to the strut shaft when installed. I thought that was pretty crappy. Ain't impressed with the new mexican made version of the "turbo gas". They are Sachs Advantage, in a Super Touring box, stamped Boge made in Mexico, with the PN 100597 that per ZF's catalog is in fact a Sachs Advantage, which they word as being sportier than the Super Touring. And they have a blue label that says Super Touring. My goal was "boge turbo gas" but I believe since ZF bought them, they are phasing out the Boge name in the USA in favor of Sachs.
I have bought Turbo Gas in the past and I swear I don't think they were this soft, and I know they were better made just looking at them. When I get the car together I'll report but I expect them to feel just like stock, they are only slightly stiffer on compression or rebound than the tired (but not shot) boge non-gas units that came out of the car. Just FYI.
