Full-size Spare Tire....buy new or used?? 700 1986

I have upgraded the rims on my 86 745 to 15" Virgos. I have just scored a NOS Virgo rim to use for a spare. My current spare is a full-size 15" steel 740 rim with a used (but still good) 195x60 tire.
Should I:
1. have the current tire transferred to the new Virgo rim OR
2. buy a 'new' used tire ($20) OR
3. buy a new 'el cheapo' tire($50) at PeppyGuys or some such?

What does the Brickboard wisdom say??
