My 89 240 has had an OD bypass installed - and it seems done right as I can feel the plate is flush down on the ledge of the trans where the solenoid used to be - but the car still doesn't seem to go into 4th gear (OD) as it has to rev 3000 to make 60mph and 3500 to do 70 on a fairly level road. I loosened the kickdown cable and the car goes into 2nd and 3rd nicely at a lower speed than before, but it doesn't seem to be getting out of third with such high revs at highway speed.
