A/C Works Intermitantly 200 1993

I am having A/C issues with my '93 240 and hope that you guys can help me diagnose. Currently can't afford to take it to the A/C shop and is 100 degrees here in Tennessee!

When I start the car first thing in the morning the compressor comes on and everything works fine. It will eventually cycle out and will not turn back on. A few days ago I was messing around and could tap the clutch and it would come on, but I was not able to get it to come on today.

I pulled off the connector at the pressostat on the accumulator. I jumpered the 2 prongs to one another, but compressor still would not cycle.

I have a gauge that is on the R134 fill hose. I know this is not perfect, but it's all I've got at the moment. When I checked the system the other day (thought it might be low charge) pressure read 45-50 while compressor was running. Not sure what the pressure was when compressor was off since there is no measurement for that, but it was certainly passed 80 psi.

Another issue that I ussed to have, but have not really had recently was that if I turned the A/C off with the switch on the console, system would not turn on again if I hit the switch. I would have to turn the car off, then back on to get it running again. This seemed to go away after I charged up the system.

I really need to get this figured out myself. I've got a test meter and most everything else to try to diagnose, just need some really good trouble shooting procedures.

Thanks in advance for your help.
