Hey everybody more knowledgeable than I, I have a question which perhaps one of you may be able to answer. I just replaced my old, failing Pierburg fuel pump, choosing to rebuild my old AC glass-dome pump instead of buying new junk.
It immediately started flooding my SU float bowls (poor things) and I was in there a few times before I realized the problem lay elsewhere. I quick pressure test revealed 20 PSI coming from the pump. 20. PSI. How?!?
Maybe I did something wrong during rebuild, or put the thing on the engine wrong? Perhaps I have the wrong size of spacer between pump and block? (I left the spacer from the Pierburg on.)
Any pointers or tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
