Hello,

Some yahoo backed into my 2000 V70 Wagon a few months ago, denting the area between the bumper and the rear window on my tailgate so bad that I can no longer even open the trunk. Insurance wouldn't cover anything and the nimrod who did it was never found out. My friend is getting rid of a 1996 850 Wagon, due to some pretty serious engine problems and said that he would give me the tailgate off of it before he sends it to the junkyard. I was wondering if they would even fit. I have virtually no money after a recent divorce and the cheapest estimate I got was $2000 to fix mine. He even offered to swap them for me but my concern is that he will start the project only to find out that it doesn't fit on my car and once the damaged tailgate is off there will be no getting it back on. Does anyone know if these two are compatible?
