I found that the injectors are not opening. A noid light flashes (bright) on all 4 ports (done 1 at a time) but the injectors do not reliably open. I get 1 out of 10 reliable starts. When it starts, it runs well. It seems the current is too low to open the injectors.
This is an LH 2.2, others have noted that the LH2.4 may have a 'weak' transistor that can cause this, but not a 2.2. The FI wire harness was removed and found to be 100% good. Grounds have been soldered and cleaned plus new FI relay. Fuel regulator and pressure are good, as is strong spark.
I'm to the point of buying a used ECU, but this model ECU appears rarely to fail - especially intermittently.
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it since I'd love to get this car out of the driveway.
Thanks,
TM
