Greetings I have a 93 940 turbo I bought for my daughter,car is in great shape for the year. One thing it won't shift into overdrive,the light is on on the dash. The fuse that controls the overdrive also controls cruise and such and it works so I don't think its a fuse. previous owner told me it needed a kickdown cable,he had it disconnected. I lubed the cable you pull it out now it snaps back when released,hooked up the cable still not shifting up into overdrive. now I keep hearing about the overdrive relay,I don't want to just throw the part at it because A) I don't believe in troubleshooting by replacing parts,and B)Its $60 bucks aftermarket.My question is there a way to jumper out the relay to see if the car will upshift,so I can be sure its a relay and not a another issue? Thanks!
