loosing oil 900 1995

I have a 95 960 that is going through a lot of oil(maybe a quart a week). I checked the flame trap and found that the whitish colored vacuum hose coming of the flame trap housing seems to be clogged and the actual white plastic flame trap is missing. Could either of these things be causing the oil problem? Any advice on how to clear the small vacuum hose? I don't think there is a blow by problem(I did the oil cap tea kettle test)also the car runs great.
