My experience with an ECU Reset switch for using LPG & Petrol 700

Hi,

This image shows the ECU reset box that I've installed on top of my steering column. It contains a "push to break" momentary off switch to reset Port 14 on the LH-Jetronic ECU. It also contains two LEDs which show the status of the cruise control system. I've included a resistor, activated by the small SP switch, which dims them for night driving.

The ECU reset is needed as the engine requires a "fresh start" when switching from LPG to Petrol. Also, when idling for a long time using LPG, the Lambda Sensor light comes on. This is due to the preset values for the sensor not matching the exhaust from the engine when running on LPG. Pressing the reset switch for 5 seconds resets this light.

I've included a 10k resistor in the circuit between the ECU reset switch and port 14 so that , when open , the voltage goes to ground. By the way, the current is only 2.3 mA.
