RECOMMENDATION FOR TRANSMISSION REPAIR 900 1995

Have a 1995 960 wagon w/136K miles; the transmission went out(??) slips after running for a short period of time and finally goes into netural. Only code that was stored in the PCM was 232 after the failure. Transmission was overheated at 105K driving in 3rd gear at hiway speed for 35 miles. Had car towed and tranny flushed and refilled.

Options:

install a salvage tranny for $1300 (6 month warranty)
repair tranny for $1500-1900 (1 year warranty)
sell vehicle

car is used for causal driving very little hiway driving, looking for input, suggestions
