R134A AC conversion questions 700 1986

This seems to be the day for questions about AC on 700s.

I have a new-to-me '86 745, in great mechanical shape except a few minor gripes. The belt to the AC compressor has been removed, so I infer that the compressor is probably no good. I did read the FAQ writeup on converting to 134A, but I still have a couple of questions:

- Is there an easy way I can tell if the R134A conversion was already done? (The original R-12 label is still on the car, but I just wanted to make sure.)

- Someone near me is parting out a 1994 car; I could get the compressor and receiver/drier off of it. Presumably I wouldn't then need the whole conversion kit, but what else should I try to get from the parts car to get this done?
