I was doing some trial and error today to see why my car wasn't starting. 1989 Volvo 244DL. When I try to start it there seems like theres not enough fuel pressure to keep it running. I decided to take off the vacuum hose that goes from the fuel pressure regulator to the intake manifold and then I plugged both holes. I go to start it and it started. does this mean my fuel pressure regulator is bad? and any and all feedback on what i did to get it started. have you ever heard or tried doing this? if it started then the fuel pump relay must be good. if theres a lack of fuel pressure it could be the regulator or the in tank pump is shot. i'm just speculating at this point. i need to know what parts need to be replaced. the ones that are already shot and the ones i should change as preventive maintenance. again, any and all feedback greatly appreciated. thanks for your time
