We adopted an 87 740 (turbo) about two weeks ago, it appeared well taken care of and has appx 175K on the clock.
Wife and daughter were on the way into downtown L.A. and the motor just stopped, she was able to get the car over, was assisted by the Fwy. angels called me then called AAA, for the tow home.
I am passingly familiar with 240's, but have never owned a 740 before, I haven't even bought a book for it yet. The car will turn over but not start
I replaced the f/p relay (because I had one), but that was apparently not the problem.
Any ideas where i might start, i was thinking maybe the fuel pumps crapped out but i've never had them die while the car was in motion.
I will peruse the FAQ's and see what there is to see.
is there a preferred reference source for this car?
your help is sorely needed and greatly appreciated.
