Headlight issues - again!!! 200

Back in August last year, ya'll helped me and my husband fix our headlight switch.

I posted this: posted by someone claiming to be Old Volvo Driver on Tue Aug 2 10:09 CST 2011 [RELATED]

For a few weeks, when I've turned on my headlights, they've flickered a few times and I've had to make sure to really turn the switch fully to the right for the lights to stay on. This morning, they were flickering really badly and never stayed on completely...by the time I'd made it down my driveway they were out completely. Now the switch cover (the round thing with the headlight pictures on it) is off (maybe it got turned to hard?) and the lights will not turn on whatsoever.

What is the issue? The fuse appears fine. Is the switch broken?

I am NOT mechanically inclined, nor is my husband...

TODAY on HALLOWEEN as I turned on my headlight, the darn switch just kept on turning....click, click and nothing....just loosey goosey, around and around. What is UP?? Is this the same thing?? Did the switch just get disconnected?? And if so, how/why??
