Finally had the car brought in for inspection sticker the other day, and the service mechanics weren't sure about the rear brakes. took off the wheels to get a better look. They said about 8mos of pad life left, just as I expected, and received my inspection sticker
I drove around maybe 5-10mi more that day, no problem.
This morning, a buddy and I packed up our bikes and whatnot (70*F in January!) to go for a bike ride at a park 20mi away. Five or six miles into the drive, CHECK ENGINE light came on. The ABS also flickered, and did not stay on. Drove a couple hundred feet, stopped. Played with OBD.
Here is what I got.
(A)
Slot 2 - Constant Flash until I remove the plug.
Slot 3 - Single Flash, nothing else.
Slot 6 - 2-4-1
(B)
Slot 2 - 1-2-2
Slot 5 - 1-1-1 (yay!)
Slot 6 - Nothing at all. Tried wiggling; pressing plug deeper in, etc. Nothing.
Also, when starting up the car, the ABS light and CHECK ENGINE light are constantly on. Engine is running fine by sound and appearance.
From "Table 1: Bosch LH2.4 and Motronic 1.8 Fuel Injection Fault Codes" in the FAQ http://www.brickboard.com/FAQ/700-900/EngineOBDCodes.htm
it states that 2-4-1 is not a big deal?
Table 3: Regina Fuel Injection Fault Codes. Read these from socket 2:
1-2-2 Signal missing or faulty to/from air temperature sensor Air temperature sensor
I could not find any other use of the 1-2-2 code for a non-regina system?
You would think I would be able to comprehend these tables a little more, but they're confusing me with the various engines and injection systems suggesting these codes are something, but not coming up under the LH2.4...
That and the constantly blinking light, and the single flash? I confirmed all of these codes twice. I will be trying Socket 6 in the B-Side of the OBD when there is sunlight...
(P.S. Is there a page on brickboard to learn the systems to make hyperlinks, post images, and other etc?)
