I figured out the cause of my poor idle and perhaps my drop in mileage. I ordered cap/rotor/wires. 94 940 NA, I even specified Bosch. I was sent the wrong wires(for Regina), that should have made me look closely at the rotor. I did not. They sent me a Regina rotor as well. After I installed said rotor I noticed a slight cracking sound as I tightened down the cap..hmmm. I figured I had just gotten too aggressive and backed the bolts out just a hair. It ran, just not great. Seemed a bit light on power and skipped occasionally at idle. Well yesterday on way to work in pouring rain the old girl started bucking and felt like it was running on 1 cylinder. I limped into work. Figured I had gotten water in the cap, removed cap....and found the rotor mushed into the top of the cap. I truly don't understand how the old girl managed to run the last 1000 miles. Looking at the two rotors side by side I see how I missed it, they look very similar but the Rex rotor is about 1/4 taller(ergo the crushed cap). The rex rotor is also significantly shorter from the center out to the cap contacts. The voltage it must have taken to bridge that extra long gap must have been considerable. But somehow it ran....anyway don't be a dumbass like me!
