Missing Brake Fluid (?) 200

I have a 83 244 that last nite developed a very soft brake pedal, almost no resistance dropping right to the floor, and when I checked brake MC was empty. After topping up and driving very carefully just a short distance home I am looking at it again in the lite of day. Putting it up on jack stands and looking at tires, wheels, flex hoses, hard lines I see no indication of leaked brake fluid. I had suspected a rear leak into the brake booster but on examination the back of the MC and the front of the BB are bone dry, also no sign of fluid within the booster hose. Looking at the junction block under the car, I do see some fluid, could be brake fluid or could be something else as there are all the usual minor leaks down there. I had replaced the MC last year about this time when it had developed a soft pedal, but I was not loosing fluid at that time. The last time I checked MC fluid level was about a month ago and it was down a tiny bit at that time. Does this sound like anything but a junction block leak??...that looks like a PITA to change out and they don't seem to be stocked locally. What am i missing, or what else should I check before pulling that off?

Also I see that FCP carries a junction block switch replacement. Is this a viable repair? Does replacing the switch still require stripping the block from the car to bring it to a bench for replacement?

Thanks! Cliff
