Keep volvo 960?

I have a 1993 960 with 142,000 miles. This car has been garaged most of its life and the car is in awesome shape. The problem is that the transmission has always been a problem (weird shifting, locking in 3rd and 4th at times) and the engine's timing belt broke.

My question is; is it worth it to replace the transmission and engine with used units or part out or salvage the car.
