Hi. This is about a 1982 245dl with an m46 manual transmission.

After getting off the freeway from Seattle to Tacoma and going into 1st gear after the light went green I got this sound (http://www.mediafire.com/?hyyhxbuufd67mc7). I didn't do extensive testing as the sound is pretty scary but it happens directly below the e brake, happens in 1st and 2nd gear, and vibrates quite a bit. The shifting and every thing about the car feel normal. I'm hoping its something easily serviceable like the clutch but being this is my first manual transmission I have nothing to base that on. What could it be and what should my next step be? I sincerely appreciate the help, THANKS!!
