I've read the FAQ and found some info, but I am somewhat confused.
The '92 240 odometer works for many miles, then stops, it starts again and will work for indefinite period then stop.
If I understand it correctly, the sender for the speedo must be good because the speedo works fine.
I assume (dangerous I know) that the famous gear is good because the odometer works and when it stops it is not at the same "tenths" value of the trip odometer.
Could it be oxidation on the board? or as a recent post by "'90 740GL" found he had hardened grease which is impeding the gear from turning?
Or is it the capacitors? I hope not, resoldering relays I've done but I am have not yet removed and unsoldered items from a board before. (Haven't De-Ox'ed either)
I may have time to remove the instrument cluster this weekend and look IF I get my '99 Nissan Altima back on the road, (fixing leaking hoses, belt and pulley changes, and endlinks.)
